Here at 808 Genetics, we are blessed to have elite mothers to work with. It took at least a decade to selectively collect the genetics we have today. Being able to preserve genetics in seed form for the future is something we see as a necessity that comes with an obligation to make sure it’s done correctly. We currently only work with regular seeds and practice traditional breeding techniques to both preserve and procure the desired characteristics from both a female and male gene pool ensuring the genetics are stable, vigorous, and of the highest quality.
We can 100% say, without a doubt, we have also found amazing keeper phenos from our seed stock that we now consider mothers. When we say you can find something from our gear that is better than the mother, we’re not joking. We are honored to be in some of the greatest gardens and facilities across the globe and have our gear consistently winning awards worldwide by talented growers like you.
Some of our flagship strains that have put 808 Genetics on the map and should be in every enthusiast’s genetic collection include:
Haole Girl BX
(Wedding Cake x Crippy BX2) x (Wedding Cake x Crippy BX2)
One of the strains 808 is most well known for is Haole Girl BX. Originally made in 2019, this is one of the strains that we not only hear about a lot, but get asked to remake all the time. It’s on 6 continents (that we know of) and the feedback we get is how it’s everything you’d want in a strain.

Haole Girl BX is one of our most well-known and requested strains
We have never heard one complaint about Haole Girl BX. The effect is strong and sedative from the Crippy. The terps are burnt rubber and gas with some creaminess from the Wedding Cake. This was a blend that created something magical and definitely deserves a spot in any genetic collection.
Currently available recommended crosses: Boo Boo Kitty Funk, White Plumeria, Haole Dog
OMG Burger
GMO x GMO BX3
OMG Burger is our most popular strain of all time. Over 1,000 packs have shipped all over the world. It has won multiple cannabis cups, one in Thailand for highest THC, one in Amsterdam, and also right here in the U.S.

OMG Burger has won multiple cannabis cups around the world
We have our own selected cut, but every cut that has won a cannabis cup has been hunted and selected by the person entering it. It’s the seed stock that’s special. Our selected cut dumps at a 7% return. The rosin is a great color with a potent, funky, dank terp and strong effect. It’s a personal favorite of ours and our entire team.
Currently available recommended crosses: OMFG Burger and 4×4
Lemon Lulu
Lemonade x Runtz BX2
We selected our Lemon Lulu aka Lemon Lipz cut out of 3 seeds. 2 of the seedlings ended up being females and one was a male. We didn’t keep the male, but did keep both females. We named one Lemon Lipz, and the other was an outlier with a grape terp, so we named that one Grape Hi Chew.

Lemon Lulu was recently dubbed the best lemon on the market
The Lemon Lipz, though, was super special. Before we ever flowered it, we could smell the intense lemon candy terp, but once we flowered it and tried it, knew it was not only a standout, but a future award-winning strain. The cut got sent to SureFire Selections and that’s where it was renamed Lemon Lulu.
This cut fetches top dollar from LA to New York, in heavily saturated and competitive markets, which speaks volumes on what the community thinks of it. It was reviewed by Good PizzZa podcast as being the best lemon on the market. Not everyone likes lemon, but if you do, you’ve got to experience this strain.
Currently available recommended crosses: Lemonadez and Lemon Lulu 2.0
Sugar Titz
Runtz x Runtz BX

Sugar Titz day 69 of bloom, grown, bred, and selected by 808 Genetics
Sugar Titz is quickly becoming known as being better than Runtz – and Runtz is popular. It is not the biggest yielder, more moderate, but the terps and smoke on it are top-shelf. We outcrossed it to Strawberry Runtz, which is Runtz x Strawberries N Cream F2. It grows better than Runtz, is more resinous than Runtz, and has a strong candy pineapple-grapefruit terp. It is really enjoyable. The effects are more uplifting unless you consume too much and then it gets sedative. It is a great socializing smoke because it makes you feel good, happy, and so can often stimulate friendly conversations. Several well-known breeders have tried our cut of Sugar Titz and they’ve all commented on how much better it is than the original Runtz. We have both cuts and Sugar Titz is one of the cuts we run for personal smoke.
Currently available recommended crosses: 808 Runtz and Boujee Runtz
Sherb N Runtz #33
Sunset Sherbet x Runtz BX

Sherb N Runtz #33 has a guava terpene profile and displays pinks and purples throughout the flower
Sherb N Runtz #33 was selected by @bungledesh in Maine. He hunted 3 packs and said there were multiple keepers, but he narrowed it down to 3; Sherb N Runtz #33, Sherb N Runtz #30, and Sherb N Runtz #7. The #7 won a national grow-off competition and ended up testing higher for THC and terpenes than anything that had previously been entered before. We have grown all 3 phenos and the #33 ended up being our favorite. Why? It not only yields the most, with big, chunky buds, but smells like guavas. It turns pink and purple inside the bud and the leaves can go dark purple and black. Both the Sunset Sherbet and Runtz change colors, so not too surprising in that department. The terp translates in both the aroma and flavor. We haven’t come across too many guava terps, so especially being popular in Hawaii, we are excited to have it in our stable.
Currently available recommended crosses: Guava Melons, Guava Nectar, and Guava Monstah
Rainbow Ropes
Cherry Pie x Runtz BX
Rainbow Ropes was selected and gifted to us by @ez_grown. Cherry Pie and Purple Urkle are pretty similar in characteristics and terps, however, this cross is so reminiscent of the old-school purps that we instantly fell in love with it. It’s colorful, tasty, and potent. A lot of people talk about how purple weed doesn’t have the effect they’re looking for, but this strain does. A bonus, it has a faster finishing bloom time thanks to the Cherry Pie, which finishes at 8 weeks. Rainbow Ropes is more Urkle than Urkle. It’s more Granddaddy than Granddaddy. If you’re looking for purps, look no further.

Supa Glue
Gorilla Glue #4 x Gorilla Glue #4 BX
Another strain that has quickly been gaining momentum is our Supa Glue, which is our Gorilla Glue #4 BX2. With YouTube influencers like Rob from CLTV not only growing it, but mentioning it in several of his videos, it is quickly catching up to the OMG Burger (released April 2022) as over 1,000 packs have also gone out into the world and it dropped at the end of May 2025. It may just be the most popular strain of all time for 808 Genetics once this year is finished.

Making Supa Glue = Gorilla Glue #4 x Gorilla Glue #4 BX
Supa Glue has a chocolately chem terp with heavy diesel influence. Its branches grow out from the main stem giving the plant a wide appearance. It yields chunky buds with frosty white resin. It’s a great washer and has a lose-your-car-in-the-driveway sedative and relaxing effect. This is definitely a must-have strain, but it seems like most people already know that.
Flagship Mothers
808 Genetics started with a few clone-only mother cuts, that we didn’t make, that were once massively popular, but are now hard to find anywhere else in the world:
Crippy
Hawaiian Webbed Leaf Indica x (Pakistani x Highland Thai)
Perhaps our most requested strain of all time, Crippy is the clone-only cut from 1986 that’s recognized all over the world as being one of the earliest known OGs. We have heard time and time again that people thought Crippy was lost because they’ve been searching for it for decades, and every time they try another brand’s Crippy, it’s just not what they remember. And then they try ours and the feedback is nostalgic joy and gratitude.

The famous 1986 Crippy cut, grown by 808 Genetics
For serious collectors looking for the strongest, sedative plants with dank pinesol OG Kush terps, this one should be on your must-have list. Crippy is not only great on its own, but when combined with other genetics, creates crosses that become staples in many gardens.

Kauai Electric
Chocolate Thai Stick x Afghani
If you were in Hawaii, especially on the island of Kauai, in the 90s and early 2000s, you’ve heard of and probably tried the Kauai Electric, one of Hawaii’s most popular strains. It is thought of to be the original skunk as the terps are raunchy and offensive.

Powerline, a Kauai Electric BX, one of Hawaii’s most popular strains; grown by @waraganj
One of its best characteristics is that it is powdery mildew resistant, so requires less spraying than other strains and does well in humid, tropical environments. Kauai Electric has an interesting back story as its genetics started over near the Silk Road and were flown to Hawaii by a respected military general. It is Chocolate Thai Stick x Afghani, composed of a unique, old-school, and foreign genetic lineage.
Currently available recommended cross: Powerline, Skunk Cabbage, Garlic Onion Skunk
Cherry Pie
Urkle x (F1 x Durban Poison)
Another strain that’s hard to find outside of 808 Genetics is original Cherry Pie. First bred in the Bay Area of California, the terp on this one is loud. When harvesting several different strains including Cherry Pie, you will only smell the Cherry Pie and you won’t forget the terp ever. It dominates the air with a distinctive Cherry aroma and a hint of buttery pie crust.

Cherry Pie grown outdoors by 808 Genetics
The best characteristic of Cherry Pie is that it is our fastest flowering strain, finishing bloom in only 8 weeks. The effect is uplifting and happy. It is often referred to as “the marriage counselor” because it puts you in such a good mood it can enhance any relationship. It is not our most potent variety, so is also good in social settings or for daily wake-and-bakes. This one checks so many boxes, crosses, especially backcrosses, should be in every enthusiast’s genetic collection.

Cookies
We have both the Animal Cookies and Forum Cookies cuts. They are visually pretty similar, however, have different terpene profiles with the Animal Cookies giving more cookie dough with a touch of creaminess and the Forum Cookies having more of a spicy cookie dough vibe.

Forum Cookies: 1st Place Hybrid High Times San Francisco Cannabis Cup Winner (2013)
Both Cookies phenos are amazing to work with. Their best characteristic is that they have very little leaf so trimming and maintaining the plant is quick and easy. The effects are uplifting and euphoric. The buds are dense and heavy, and the resin tacos that decorate their leaves are visually stunning. These are special genetics and a must-have addition to any collection.
Currently available recommended cross: Real Cookies and Supa’s Cookies
For The Love Of The Plant
Over the years, we’ve seen and experienced market changes and trends that have helped shaped the strains and projects we work on. We are so grateful to be able to work so closely with the cannabis community to create strains that change the game.
Our calling is to keep creating a variety of strains that not only improve people’s lives around the world, but to maintain the cannabis plant’s genetic integrity and workable potential. It’s about honoring the past original genetics while working hard to create new and exciting varieties for the future of the plant.
