808 Genetics’ Favorite Strains Of All Time
Over the years, we’ve tried and grown a lot of different cannabis varieties. If you asked us what our favorite strain of all time was, we’d have a hard time answering that. With thousands of strains to consider, each one serving a different purpose and providing a different effect, it’s difficult to settle on just one. But there are certain varieties that always seem to keep us coming back for more. When dialed in, the following strains have become our favorites, proving themselves in one way or another time and time again:
Caramel Apple Cake
(Triangle Kush x Animal Cookies x Sin Mint Cookies) x (Crippy x Crippy x Crippy x Kauai Electrics Pre 92) Caramel Apple Cake (Haole Girl #4) is the perfect combination of Wedding Cake and Crippy BX2. One unique thing about it is its terpene profile, which smells exactly like caramel candy apple – a flavor that’s not very common in the cannabis world. This terpene profile was not expected to be found within the genetics pool and is a rare epigenetic expression. It also throws variegated leaves, with multiple shades of green and yellow. The plant is so unique each section will have subtle differences within the flower sites, which is hardly seen and never really talked about. With sturdy branches and main stem, and great lateral branching, it performs very well in a greenhouse, which is one factor that we’re always looking for. Crippy
(Hawaiian Webbed Leaf Indica x (Pakistani x Highland Thai)) One of the main factors on whether or not we keep or like a particular strain is heavily dependent on how effective it is at relieving pain. Crippy is able to relieve extreme pain, helping to rank it as one of our favorites. Its unique genetic lineage consists of Hawaiian Webbed Leaf Indica, Pakistani, and Highland Thai. We love this strain, and as far as strength goes, use it as a measuring stick to compare all other strains to. This variety is preferred for treating opiate addiction, benzo addiction, or to help terminally ill patients reduce the pharmaceuticals they take daily. Testing at up to an impressive 7% terpenes. Originally selected by Supa Bob in 1986 from a 500 seed pheno hunt.

Haole Girl #2
[Wedding Cake x (Crippy x (Crippy x (Crippy x Kauai Electrics)))] Haole Girl is a cross of Wedding Cake, Crippy, and Kauai Electrics. The winning factor about this variety is that it delivers on the strength, terpenes, and yield. Wedding Cake is a well-known strain, and Haole Girl is an improved upon version of it. It’s enjoyable to grow and would be welcome in any connoisseur’s jar. Bred and selected by 808 Genetics, Haole Girl is quickly becoming our go-to strain for daytime and nighttime. Blue Sapphire
(Unknown Cookie Cut x Unknown Male) Blue Sapphire is one of 808 Genetics’ most coveted cultivars, found from seed back in 2012. This variety is exclusive to our garden, tests at 32.5% THC, and has a deep vanilla, gassy aroma and taste. It has tight internode spacing and very sturdy branches, performing well in greenhouses and outdoor gardens. As an indica-dominant variety, it is a short squat plant that throws tall warrior spears, an impressive and unique plant to grow. Checking off all the boxes, this easily claims a spot in our top 5. We would like to put it at the top, but due to a slow veg, it cannot be ranked higher.

Cherry Pie
(Urkle x (F1 x Durban Poison)) Cherry Pie is one of the most terpy varieties we have come across yet. Its color during flower is stunning, producing contrasting shades of deep purple, cherry red, and bright green. It’s strong enough to produce a nice feeling of relaxation, euphoria and subtle enough to be suitable for those that aren’t heavy smokers. Not many strains, if any, can match the intense candy cherry pie and gas aroma / flavor this plant is able to achieve, which is why it’s sitting on our favorites list. Its unique terpene profile makes it a great addition to any garden lacking such characteristics. Need some inspiration? A spark of creativity? Z is the strain for you. This variety is moderate strength and is great for daytime, allowing you to get stuff done without that couch-lock feeling, and can be enjoyed by pretty much everybody. (OG Kush (Florida Cut) x (F1 x Durban Poison)) Forum Cookies is one of those strains that, when grown properly, never disappoints. It’s absolutely beautiful, throwing some of the most eye-catching shades of deep purple. It has a euphoric effect that boosts creativity and motivation. Patients everywhere love this plant; it won first place hybrid at the 2013 High Times San Francisco Cannabis Cup. In our opinion, this is the cookie cut that everyone should use in breeding.
