Sativa-Dominant Strains With Energizing & Cerebral Effects To Help Keep You Motivated
Having mostly worked with Indica-dominant strains, we wanted to bring in some genetics that were more Sativa-dominant. The African Lime Haze menu is our fifth menu of 2023 and is currently our only Sativa-dominant line. It is a continued collaboration with @oninoodles and his unreleased African Haze #11 x Tahitian Lime, which we first bred with in our Kauai Boy menu. Oni asked us to breed with this line and cross it to our selected females.

Being the first Sativa-dominant line we’ve created, phenos will have characteristics like thin leaves, sandalwood and lime Starburst terps, and 2-3x stretch. And while the plant characteristics lean towards the Sativa side, the bloom time is right around 10 weeks. The only other Sativa-dominant strains we currently work with are Purple Monkey Punch, Blue Dream, OG Ghost Train Haze, and Strawberry Souffle.
The Stud
We selected the most haze-dominant male we could find to ensure a nice change from our Indica lines, however, we did keep bloom time in mind. The stud we selected was vigorous with a nice hazey lime terpene profile and great resin production.

The females we flowered out were fast flowering for Sativas, only requiring about 11 weeks at the longest. We ended up only keeping African Lime Haze #1, which we have crossed to several different males, because it was the fastest flowering female at 10 weeks.

All of the crosses listed above will be unique and have potential to create nice uplifting effects. Often, Sativas are the go-to for a morning wake and bake and work great as a caffeine replacement. They are best for daytime with energizing and cerebral effects helping with motivation and are what we consider to be beneficial for recreational purposes, like attending concerts or events. Most of our stand-out strain selections are crosses with older genetics as we think the breeding will bring out some special phenos.
