Full Spectrum Medicinal Cannabis Found In Moana’s Gift Line
Our sixth menu of the year (2023) may just be the most unique menu we’ve made to date. It is our Moana’s Gift menu. Moana’s Gift is AC/DC crossed to Kauai Mints #77. One reason we’re so excited about this menu is because of the medicinal value found within its genetic lineage. With lab tests of Moana’s Gift coming in at 30%+ THC, 15%+ CBD, and 3% CBG, a 2:1, this strain’s genetic composition contains medicinal properties expressed through the entourage effect, which states cannabinoids are more medicinal when delivered together than they are when isolated.

The high CBD comes from the AC/DC mother, one of the few record-setting CBD strains on today’s market. The THC is courtesy of the Kauai Mints, which is a Forum Cookies BX, with the outcross to Crippy. Crippy alone has tested at an impressive 7% total terpenes, a number that sounds small but is currently a respectable number for terpene levels. Advanced Terpene Solutions states, “In general, you will not find concentrations higher than 3% or so total, as terpenes are concentrated and powerful substances.” Forum Cookies is also one of the highest testing CBG strains on the market, providing a perfect blend of cannabinoids all in one strain.

The stud we selected was AC/DC dominant, with a similar terpene profile and overall plant structure, but we did see some Cookie traits coming through as well. He was vigorous, drank well, smelled great, and was extremely resilient. We properly stress tested him and he passed with flying colors.

We had another great contender that we were thinking about using, really similar to the one we ended up selecting, however, it didn’t have the same vigor. We selected the male that we thought would best pass on the desired traits.

Whenever we drop a new menu, we get asked what the must-haves strains are. That can be a challenging question to answer. A lot of times we can recommend what will pair well, however, often strains that have what’s considered “odd” combinations end up being super popular.

One phenotype’s test result came back as containing high levels of THCA, which is the compound that is converted to THC once heat is applied. Technically speaking, this classifies it as hemp, making it very appealing to hemp farms and businesses that want to work with high quality cannabis hemp.
Inspired By Love
This line was inspired by our daughter, Sophia, who was struggling with seizures from the age of 4 through the age of 9. We not only wanted to research and breed genetics that would help her, but to improve the lives of others that may have serious medical issues like hers. During the hardest time in our daughter’s life, she struggled with eating and having an appetite, dropping a lot of weight and experiencing low energy. We wanted to mix THC and CBD in more balanced ratios to help with the multiple issues she was dealing with.
808 Genetics named the strain Moana’s Gift because Moana, Sophia’s mother, developed this strain and pushed its progress forward for her. While we also turned to doctor medication to help treat the seizures, to help treat the rare condition she was diagnosed with, Lennox Gastaut Syndrome, Sophia has made such a dramatic recovery that the doctors and neurologists were left stunned. They said they’ve never seen a child with such a serious condition make such a remarkable comeback.
She defied the odds and we credit first Jesus Christ, the incredible help from a team of neurologists, doctors, and amazing nurses – and last but not least – CBD. While cannabis is still in its early days of research considering how long it’s been around, we think the CBD helped protect her brain during this tough time. It helped keep her body balanced and achieve a state of homeostasis. Again, that is our own opinion, but we feel very strongly about it.
We know this line is special, it holds a lot of meaning to our family, and we look forward to working on it further in the future.
