Our Cherry Pie BX4 menu hit the market in August 2024. We breed with the original Bay Area legend cut of Cherry Pie, originally bred and selected by Jigga and PieGuy in the late 2,000s. Circulating first in San Francisco and then throughout the United States, this cut won both awards and the hearts of cannabis connoisseurs across the country.

Cherry Pie is a cross of Purple Urkle and Durban Poison with effects that are uplifting, enhancing creativity and relaxation. Cherry Pie is often referred to as “the marriage counselor” as it is known to help improve communication and compatibility in relationships. It is also helpful for anxiety and depression. We find value in heavily working this strain as it is both a classic and a favorite, providing too many benefits, for both the grower and consumer, to not put time into.

While there are many things about this strain that make it appealing to work with, many time-conscious larger facilities favor the quick bloom time of just 8 weeks. A short bloom time is not at the top of everybody’s must-haves list, however; often, bold terps are what people are after. This line has that too. It also has decent branching and a moderate stretch, making it ideal for low ceilings or indoor grows, perfect for tent or closet growers. It will also change color in late bloom, exhibiting deep purples and blacks, which is a frequently requested trait from our customer base.

With so many characteristics to love, Cherry Pie continues to be one of our most popular strains, especially on the East Coast of the U.S. Our Strawberry Cherry Pie just won The Culture Cup qualifier out of 75 entries in June (2025) at a hash competition in Maine. While Cherry Pie isn’t considered a strain with a high return when talking about hash, if you can find a decent washing pheno, it’s worth working with for the terps it brings to the table. There isn’t a terp quite like the Cherry Pie. It overpowers most other terpene profiles and is highly identifiable; it’s special.

Stand Out Strains
The male we selected was Cherry Pie dominant, exhibiting amazing color, structure, and that signature terp, exactly what we were looking for. Phenos from this line should have a faster bloom time as well, which is another goal of ours when working this lineage. By crossing a faster blooming male with a slower blooming female, it creates the opportunity to find phenos that resemble the mother, but bloom like the father. If the mother is also a fast bloomer, you’ll get phenos that you don’t have to wait on.

We, of course, also crossed it back to the Cherry Pie to make a Cherry Pie BX5, which we called Redline. We named it Redline because, just like The Fast and the Furious movies, this strain will be hitting the red line in the terps and the finishing time, meaning buckle your seat belts, you’re in for a joy ride. For a Cherry Pie dominant pheno, look for double serrations on the leaves, red petioles, and that pungent Cherry Pie aroma.
