A leading factor that determines whether or not a seed is good is not only if it’s worth growing, but if it’s worth growing again and again. This is largely influenced by the genetics. We know that no matter how well you grow, if you don’t start with great genetics, you will never be able to achieve that top shelf quality. Over the past 2 decades, 808 Genetics has been carefully selecting and collecting what we consider to be the finest genetics to work and breed with. While we are confident in our selection process, have tried and grown thousands of varieties, and only keep and work with our absolute favorites that check off all of our boxes, it is motivational to have others in the community appreciate our work and include us in their gardens. We know there are a lot of great plants out there, so we search for and create new traits and flavors to bring to the table and breed them with our proven winners to make strains that quickly become connoisseur favorites. Progressing the plant and improving the happiness of patients were goals of ours long before 808 Genetics came to be and we are so proud to see everything moving forward in the direction that, up until now, we only talked about and dreamed of.

Growing Technique
808 Genetics produces all of our seeds organically, and flower our plants in the direct Hawaiian sunshine to produce vigorous and exceptional seeds. Because we, and many of our family members, rely on cannabis as a medicine, it serves as a motivating factor to produce the best we possibly can; our day-to-day lives and the health and happiness of our family depend on it; whether it’s to help control chronic pain or child seizures, our lives would not be the same without cannabis. We know that each new strain created could be our next favorite or more medicinal and that is where a lot of the excitement resides. We take care of our plants to the best of our capabilities, constantly improve when we are able, and know the importance of producing quality seeds and plants.

Passion
Often overlooked, but highly influential, is the passion of a gardener. Cannabis plants are sensitive and can easily take on deficiencies. It is an art to not only read a plant, but learn all of the things it needs for peak performance, which heavily determines the quality achieved. Certain traits like variegated leaves, cannabinoid content, and terpene profiles can be suppressed if a plant is neglected of nutrients or is grown synthetically. It takes a lot of love and hard work to grow a plant organically and it’s the passion and dedication of the gardener that allows a plant to reach its full potential as well as be kept alive for decades. A goal of ours is to consistently produce the best of the best and we believe that that love is passed down to each generation of seeds.
